Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health is seeking aCertified Special Education Teachers for an approved private academic school located at our Brandywine campus, located in Glenmoore, PA. The school provides educational services to males ages 8-18 years of age wth emotional and behavior disorders. This is a 10 month position with the option of working summer ESY, but not required. The classroom is high school level emotional support.
Devereux's Brandywine School served students in middle and high school, and is specialized to serve individuals with Emotional Disturbances, Learning Disabilities, and Autism Spectrum Disorders. Our school typically enrolls between 50 and 80 student, and our Teacher to Student ratio is a maximum 12:1, with one teaching assistant in each classroom. Our School Year Teachers work 41-weeks with summers off! Our ESY Teachers will work during our 8-week session during the summer. As a Teacher at Devereux, you will plan and implement effective instruction to assigned students by planning and preparing lesson plans, establishing a supportive learning environment, delivering instruction, assessing student progress, and providing guidance for support staff.

Education & Experience: Bachelors degree with PA Special Education Certification. Experience as a Special Education Teacher strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements: Significant amounts of walking, sitting, and standing. Some lifting and/or managing resistance required related to applying physical intervention techniques – upwards of 75-100 lbs. or more. Some repetitive wrist/hand movements, normal hearing and vision. Occasional use of computers and office equipment. Occasional driving of Devereux vehicles for business purposes. Ability to meet 100% mastery of Safe and Positive Approaches (SPA) techniques.
