This role is within UHC Capitation. Capitation is a per-member payment to a medical service provider, hospital or third party/ancillary vendor that covers contracted services at a contracted rate.
The Capitation operations department is responsible for processing $8.8 billion in payments a year for 3 different systems and lines of business.   This department has sustained year over year growth and is a key area of focus for our accelerated model.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Conduct monthly variance analysis and reporting for assigned product payments
  • Analyze, review and trend data monthly and periodically
  • Report issues and needed resolutions in order for payments to be accurate
  • Support business owners in project development of system enhancements
  • Identify and implement process improvements
  • Analyze trends in provider membership and medical payments
  • Present findings and recommendations to management in metric package


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Accounting or Finance or equivalent field
  • 2+ years financial and/or data analysis experience 
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel - such as pivot tables and simple formulas
 Preferred Qualifications:
  • Capitation or Healthcare Financial Analysis experience
  • MS Access
  • Data mining
  • Metric reporting
  • Ability to problem solve and research conflicting and/or inaccurate data
  • Ability to communicate analysis including trends and opportunities to the business in writing and verbally
  • Ability to learn new computer applications quickly and efficiently
