This position within the UHC Capital Investment Group is responsible for managing a portfolio of UHC’s capital investments. The Sr. Financial Analyst facilitates the intake, execution and closure of capital investments for an assigned area within UnitedHealthcare.   Primary Responsibilities:

  • Partner with business sponsors, project teams and UHG I.T. to create & analyze, long term capital pipelines, forecasts, asset management and program performance measurements
  • Manage the execution and quality of the end-to-end capital lifecycle process
  • Develop and maintain financial reports to track actual & planned results and to support investment decisions
  • Compile, review and present financial and operational information to key senior executives
  • Analyze financial results, trends, performance metrics, and provide variance and root cause analysis to support investment decisions
  • May perform standard month-end accounting processes such as booking journal entries, account reconciliations or financial statement analysis
You'll need to eat, sleep and breathe data so you'll be able to tell the stories that need to be told. You'll be expected to understand and incorporate industry specific metrics into reports to highlight relevant trends and support fact-based business decisions. Your recommendations will go to all levels of leadership so the spotlight is firmly on you and your financial skills.


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 1+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Advanced level of competency in Microsoft Office products; specifically Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous financial planning / forecasting & analysis experience
  • Previous experience with month - end accounting and/or fixed-asset accounting responsibilities (i.e. journal entries, account reconciliations, depreciation tracking, etc.)
  • Previous experience with Hyperion Essbase, and Peoplesoft applications
