Position Summary

Provide industrial engineering support across all operations within Giant Eagle (Retail, Manufacturing, Distribution), with a focus on optimizing work processes and our overall operating expense.

Job Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Direct and/or participate in cross-functional teams. Integration of GEBS (Giant Eagle Business Systems) initiatives and TPS (Toyota Production System) principles into work practices.
  • Maintenance of labor management systems across all operations including labor standards and scheduling system updates.
  • Team Member Development - Attract, develop, and retain a diverse, high caliber intern/co-op talent pool. Manage internal intern/co-op program.
  • Budgeting/business planning for store labor
  • Analyze various business metrics to determine trends, identify opportunities and track savings
  • Method and workflow improvement identification and development
  • Development of cost justifications for equipment moves, method changes, and / or layout modifications
  • Responsible for controlling some expense within a department. Amount of Budgetary Responsibility: \\$1 - \\$100k
  • Supervision of team members within an area or section of a department.

Education and Training Required

  • Bachelors Degree Industrial Engineering

Experience Required

  • 3 to 5 years

Experience Desired

  • Implementation of industrial engineering principles in retail environment
  • Experience with automated labor scheduling systems
