Senior Transportation Manager - Market Operations - San Antonio, Texas

Responsible for daily operations of transportation teams across the Texas market. Responsibilities include staff management and establishment of vendor relationships to facilitate the service of vehicle assets. Facilitates setup of locations, staffing, and asset procurement in new markets. Collaborates with Customer Service and Dispatch Management to ensure market demands and service level obligations are being met.  Responsible for managing to market P&L’s, meeting internal and external demands, and adhering to all safety and regulatory guidelines. This position may also provide assistance with special projects and communication efforts to members, clinic staff, and community partners. Provides strategic management support to the Director of Transportation through oversight of all assigned aspects of Comfort Care Transportation operations in multiple facilities throughout assigned area.
 
Required Qualifications:
  • Responsible for all aspects of staff development to include workflow scheduling, hiring, training, coaching and development
  • Conducts performance reviews and recommends merit increases, promotions and disciplinary action
  • Manages all assigned field operations in assigned markets
  • Oversees the management of employees in multiple markets in support of departmental and company objectives
  • Works with senior management to ensure operations and relations are efficient and effective
  • Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested
  • Conduct presentations at various events or community/professional meetings to raise awareness of Comfort Care Transportation
  • Reviews operational problems and policies and implements corrective actions to remedy them
  • Assists with development of business expansion strategies including fleet acquisitions, staffing and creating satellite transportation facilities
  • Oversees the fleet functions and resolves conflicting issues across functional areas
  • Collaborates with outside transportation vendors as needed to fulfill service initiatives
  • Produces and analyzes operational reports to ensure compliance and operational efficiency
  • Develops strategies in support of the company’s operational goals
  • Demonstrate teamwork, customer satisfaction skills, and represent the organization’s Corporate Standards
  • Works closely with Transportation Service Center management to ensure optimal operational efficiency
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Business Administration, Management or a related field required.  (8 additional years of comparable work experience beyond the required years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree)
  • Seven or more years of related experience with at least 5 years of management experience
  • Excellent written and oral communications skill
  • 5 years’ experience analyzes operational data, draw conclusions and make recommendation to senior management for consideration required
  • Ability to effectively manage staff and discipline/coach them when needed required
  • Ability to prioritize and manage a variety of simultaneous projects required
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with patient transportation operations preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) fluency preferred

  •  Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  •  Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  •  Ability to use fine motor skills to operate equipment and/or machinery
  •  Ability to properly drive and operate a company vehicle
