State Regulation Compliance Supervisor/Lead

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Provide support and training to HR functions and ensure compliance awareness in highly regulated states across the Inspire Brands Operations and Support Centers, and Compliance team.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Prepare and update compliance training -- California., New York, Canada and other identified highly regulated states.
    1. Sexual Harassment
    2. Wage & Hour
    3. Jurisdictional Requirements
  2. Ensure State required training is facilitated, executed and completed per state regulations.
  3. Audit Restaurants for compliance in key areas:
    1. Meal & Rest Breaks
    2. Wage & Hour
    3. Reporting Pay
    4. Spread Shift / Split Shift
    5. Penalty / Premium pay
  4. Partner with HRBP and Operations to prepare and facilitate onsite Wage & Hour Roadshow -- CA
  5. Support Compliance Manager with Training
    1. Tip Credit reports/trends and analytics
    2. Alcohol training is up to date and in compliance
  6. Partner with HRBP for Canada to ensure ER cases are completed and notifications provided per province regulations
    1. Conduct case review for quality assurance & Follow up for clarification as needed
  7. Support Compliance Manager / Team to follow up to ensure I -9 / E Verify compliance in designated states
  8. Provides Support as needed to Compliance Manager for EEOC/Legal requests information and fact gathering and position statements

 

 

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business or equivalent experience
  • Operations experience/knowledge

 

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION:

  • Preferred: 2-3+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, ideally focused in employee relations

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS or ABILITIES:

  • Displays strong working knowledge of Operations policies, procedures, guidelines and philosophies
  • Exhibits the ability to work with operations and human resources personnel towards common goal
  • Displays excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of local, state and federal labor and workplace laws
  • Displays the ability to work in a fast paced, customer oriented culture
  • Exhibits excellent collaboration, and decision-making skills
