Strategy Advancement Advisor

Description

The Strategy Advancement Advisor provides strategic direction to identify and address business issues and opportunities, specifically related to strategic relationships. The role provides business intelligence and strategic planning support, working across multiple business segments. The Strategy Advancement Advisor work assignments involve complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Working with multiple internal and stakeholders, the Strategy Advancement Advisor is accountable to achieve targeted business results in conjunction with our external partners, driving integration across care dimensions and improving health outcomes in our member population.

Responsibilities

Assignment: Office of the Chief Medical Officer

Location: Louisville, KY or WAH possible (highly prefer Houston, TX, Dallas, TX, or Louisville, KY)

The Strategy Advancement Advisor will work cross-functionally with Humana clinical teams (Medical, Nursing, Pharmacy, Social Work) and with external strategic partners to establish an Integrated Health System Sciences Institute.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner closely with a team to execute strategic relationships, starting with a significant relationship to establish an integrated health institute with a major academic partner
  • Work internally to develop and manage governance processes and to co-create and execute strategies for clinical partnerships
  • Identify strategic priorities and work to implement those strategies with the appropriate internal and external partners across multiple business segments, academic partners, and external partners
  • Define and work with appropriate professionals to conduct research projects that result in quantifiable health outcomes improvement and publishable studies
  • Develop key metrics and report on those metrics to senior executives internally and with strategic partners externally
  • Collaborate with data teams to establish appropriate protocols for leveraging Humana’s data assets with strategic partners for research
  • Build processes to integrate Humana learning practices with academic partners as we co-develop curriculum and create job rotations, adjunct professorships, and teaching opportunities
  • Build positive relationships to achieve strong, sustainable results for Humana, our partners, and the people we serve
  • Work with internal and external partners to establish recruiting strategies and partnerships to matriculate health college graduates into full-time employment with Humana 

               

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 10+ years in health and well-being environment or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work with senior executives across multiple functions
  • Exceptional communication skills and strong presence, with the ability to influence without authority
  • Sound decision making, working in an independent and unsupervised environment
  • Proven collaboration skills
  • In-depth knowledge of value based and/or other innovative payment models
  • Understanding of integrated care delivery and how to bring diverse aspects of the care system into a holistic model to make it easy for people to achieve their best health
  • Self-starter who motivates others to deliver their best
  • Strong experience building relationships and collaborating

Preferred Qualifications

  • MD, MBA, MPH, MSN, MSW or other related secondary degree
  • Prior experience in the health and well-being industry
  • Knowledge of clinical education models and inter-professional education 

Reporting Relationships

  • You will report to the Director.
