As a member of the Marketing Strategy Team, within the UnitedHealthcare Medicare & Retirement (M&R) Insurance Solutions (IS) team, this Strategy Marketing Lead is responsible for formulating data-driven marketing strategies that are personalized to the audience and deliver a seamless end-to-end consumer journey for prospects and members.


The Strategy Marketing Lead will significantly contribute to the Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) marketing strategy in one or more of the following areas: Customer Journey, Competitive and Market Intelligence, Content and Messaging, Business Reporting, and Creative Governance.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates across functional groups, leveraging internal and external business partners and engaging the client to achieve business goals
  • Aggregates market and competitive intelligence, conducts consumer research, reviews Voice of the Customer feedback, and translates the information into actionable insights
  • Completes regular and ad-hoc reporting for business stakeholders
  • Develops and maintains a comprehensive consumer experience journey map by collaborating with other internal and external business partners
  • Translates target member segments and the desired consumer experience journey into marketing objectives
  • Develops content strategies that align with the overall marketing objectives
  • Establishes overall marketing channel strategy and continually refines it as new capabilities and data sources determine the most effective channels
  • Identifies and explores alternative distribution channels
  • Evolves and maintains the brand messaging and communications architecture
  • Governs the creative development process to maintain consistency and alignment
  • Partners across the Marketing team to define and map a holistic consumer experience across all online and offline channels
  • Sets business performance metrics and targets
  • Establishes the learning agenda for Marketing
  • Sets the overall agency strategy and manages relationships with key agency partners
  • Participates on enterprise project teams

Success Factors:

  • Strong technical skillset to identify, define, and analyze various data sets to draw conclusions and take necessary actions
  • Strong understanding of consumer needs across the end-to-end consumer lifecycle
  • Strong understanding of Omni channel marketing with a focus on developing a robust consumer digital experience
  • Willingness and capability to share responsibilities in a team environment so that the team collectively achieves its strategic business objectives
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present relevant information to various audiences and stakeholders
  • Solid understanding of professional project management practices and capability to work with project managers to coordinate and execute multiple, simultaneous projects 
  • Ability to be flexible and work with ambiguity


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related field
  • 5+ years performing marketing work with demonstrated results developing and implementing direct to consumer (DTC) and/or brand marketing assets, campaigns and product marketing strategies

  • 5+ years collaborating in a cross-functional and matrixed environment influencing others and gaining alignment on common goals 

  • 5+ years working in a deadline driven environment, managing and prioritizing multiple deliverables\

  • 5+ years demonstrated organizational skills

  • 3+ years meeting or exceeding sales promotion/marketing targets

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

  • Live within a commutable distance to Horsham, PA 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree
