Title Supervisor Enterprise Information Management Position Posting Location Buffalo Status Full Time Regular Hours 8-5 Job Description The Supervisor of Enterprise Information Management is responsible for supporting the data warehouse, data integration processes, and a broad range of ETL applications related to delivering data services. The incumbent will oversee a team of technologists supporting the Data Analysis, ETL, Databases and Data Delivery applications within the Enterprise Information Management team. This role provides technical counsel and guidance to other team members, consultants, IS Staff, and end-users, and is responsible for creating and maintaining accurate project and process documentation. Primary Responsibility • Allocates assigned application development resources in support of strategic and regulatory projects, and runs the business system maintenance and support
• Ensures compliance with and refinement of project methodologies, development lifecycles and change control, ensuring the effective transition of software deliverables from development to a supported production environment
• Reviews project proposals to accurately estimate the components of a solution from requirements through deployment
• Applies continuous processes improvements to applications in order to enhance business capabilities while lowering total cost of ownership
• Works closely with Portfolio Management, Architecture, Quality Assurance, Systems Administration, Service Management, and other Application Development teams to ensure timely delivery of high quality business solutions
• Works closely with business end users and management to ensure effective communication regarding business needs
• Provides oversight, measurement and root cause analysis of work requests and incidents, with a focus on preventive maintenance
• Manages staff recruitment toward hiring top talent. Fosters a culture that supports employee engagement
• Maintains appropriate staff skills and competencies across strategic business domains, including key supported technologies
• Determines adequate training needs for existing staff and/or new hires
• Creates and maintains performance objectives and development plans for each staff member with periodic follow-up and support, providing coaching and feedback as necessary for professional growth
Knowledge and Skills • Must be able to manage multiple assignments across diverse business areas
• Very well organized; able to track work requests through the software development lifecycle
• Proficient at relationship building and communication across all business functions
• Must be able to effectively manage a team of software developers; successful coach and mentor
• Proven aptitude in leadership competencies including staff development, acting with a sense of urgency
Proficiency in project management, organizational task management, and prioritization/triage skills
• Strong communication skills including presentation, written, facilitation, mentoring, and persuasive, engaging interpersonal skills
• Critical thinking, ability to collaboratively solve problems, and proven solution delivery track record required
• The ability to perform at a high level within a fast paced, dynamic environment requiring consistent meeting of aggressive deadlines
• Demonstrated customer service focus and commitment required
• Working knowledge of software engineering, architectural concepts and a commitment to delivering high quality technology solutions
• Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative environment requiring close working relationships with Business partners, Solution Architects, Quality Assurance, Systems Administration, Service Management and Application Development peers
Qualifications Technical Requirements:
• Proficiency in software development lifecycle management including Agile, Scrum, Lean, Unified Process, Iterative and Waterfall methodologies, in addition to product lifecycle management
• Ability to participate in data governance to improve data quality
• Working knowledge of ETL tools such as Informatica PowerCenter, IBM DataStage, or Microsoft SSIS
• Working knowledge of data mapping tools such as Informatica data Analyzer, Fast Track, etc.
• Strong experience implementing relational database management solutions with enterprise level systems such as Oracle, DB2, MS SQL, etc.
• Strong domain knowledge and experience with Enterprise Data Warehouse principles and best practices
• Experience with software versioning, deployment tools, and managed releases
• Knowledge of Business Intelligence and analytics tools a plus (example; Cognos, Business Objects, Tableau, etc.)
Experience • Minimum five (5) years of professional experience with a minimum of two (2) years acting in a technical lead role capacity
• Experience in software development and support experience in a Healthcare Payer environment is preferred
• Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
