Under direction of Registered Nurse and /or Certified Nurse Anesthetist/Anesthesiologist, this position supports the operations of surgical services to include, but not limited to, assembles, set ups anesthesia equipment, transports patients, inventories supplies and restocks, maintains documentation.
Collaborates with OR Manager to assure appropriate supply of materials are readily available to OR staff members.
Accurately documents room temperature and humidity when requested and takes appropriate actions when norms are not met.
Accurately documents temperatures for refrigerators, blanket/fluid warmers and takes appropriate actions when norms are not met.
Inventories OR stock, and restocks according to departmental needs and direction given.
Assesses equipment need and drug supplies on a daily basis and stocks carts as needed.
Checks OR equipment set up prior to case, choosing supplies appropriate for the patient’s age.
Works efficiently to decrease operating room turnover time.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Medical assistance experience preferred.
Knowledge of aseptic technique.
Six months in health care environment and/or Operating Room.
Ability to work in a fast paced, constantly changing work environment
Current American Heart Association for Healthcare Provider CPR required.
