Wealth and Investment Management (WIM) businesses build enduring client relationships through sound, thoughtful and objective advice. We help our clients by developing individualized plans for everything from retirement goals to business succession planning, to family legacy intentions. Services include comprehensive planning and advice, investment management, brokerage, private banking, estate planning strategies, trust, insurance and both individual and institutional retirement.

Wealth Management (WM): Wealth Management business is a leading provider of financial services to high-net worth clients through Wells Fargo Private Bank, and to the affluent segment through partnerships between Wealth Brokerage Services and Consumer Banking. In Wealth Management, clients are provided with a complete range of solutions to help them manage, preserve and transfer their wealth.

The Estate Specialist is responsible for overseeing moderate unique needs of estates and trusts during the death settlement process. Acts as subject matter expert in various phases of death settlement. Proactively completes certain settlement tasks which may include: reviewing and interpreting estate planning documents, performing due diligence and risk analysis for new death settlement opportunities, proactively engaging in conversations with the relationship team, centers of influence and beneficiaries on specific death settlement matters. Analyzes and creates post mortem plans that are detailed to identify potential tax savings. Secures, values and distributes the tangible personal property in death settlement accounts. Must be able to identify issues and research across jurisdictions.

Excellent written and oral communication skills required. Effectively partner with internal (Estate Administrators, Estate Specialists, Trust & Fiduciary Specialists, and Relationship Managers) and external (attorneys, CPAs, beneficiaries, etc.) parties throughout the estate administration process.

Candidate must be willing to maintain a high level of knowledge on Federal and State probate, trust, and tax laws, staying abreast of constant changes.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: financial services, trust or legal
  • 2+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: estate planning, estate tax, or fiduciary administration
Desired Qualifications

  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • CTFA Certified Trust And Financial Advisor, CFP-Certified Financial Planner, CPA-Certified Public Accountant, A Juris Doctor (JD) degree or A Legum Magister (LLM) degree in Tax designations
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
