Enterprise Business Technology (EBT) provides development and support for the many internal systems used across the enterprise. The EBT Architecture Group provides architecture services to the breadth of EBT. We work to influence the technology direction and standards of Wells Fargo technology and ensure EBT solutions are in alignment the overall goals and objectives of EIT and our LOB partners.

The Senior Architect for EBT Common Solutions Data Architecture is a key position reporting into the Managing Systems Architect for Common Solutions Architecture. This position is responsible for setting key strategic architecture direction for data within the EBT portfolio. This position will be responsible for creating and implementing a data solution architecture working closely with the Enterprise Data Blueprint(EDE, DMI) teams, LOB partners, CTOs and Application managers.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Working with the LOB business leaders, application managers, Enterprise Architecture, Information Security, Infrastructure Architects, and project teams to create and manage an EBT Data Architecture.
  • Assist in the creation of an architectural data strategy and artifacts for key technology data initiatives across the domain areas within EBT (Finance, Operational Risk and Compliance, HR, Marketing, Legal, Audit, etc.).
  • Assess impact of the Enterprise Data Blueprint initiative on the EBT portfolio.
  • Responsible for designing data solutions in accordance with Data Management (DMI) policies and the Enterprise Data Blueprint (EDE) initiative. Influence the application owners to ensure alignment with the data architecture.
  • Design and implement architecture standards processes for data and data governance in EBT.
  • Acts in a strategic role in the development and maintenance of data architectures for that are in compliance with the Enterprise Architecture.
  • Serves as the highest-level technical consultant to internal clients and technical management to ensure conformity with Enterprise Data Architecture, having expertise across a broad portion of the organizational unit's architecture, or in-depth expertise within a more specific portion of the architecture.

The preferred work location is Charlotte, NC, but other locations such as Chandler, AZ and Minneapolis, MN will also be considered. Preference will be given to those candidates that either currently live in or are willing to relocate to one of these preferred locations with limited to no relocation assistance.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of information technology systems design and planning experience; in systems, applications, or architecture
  • 10 + years of experience designing software solutions using software architecture design principles
  • 7+ years of experience in application & data architecture and solution design
  • 5+ years of data modeling experience
  • 5+ years of data management experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of multiple database technologies (Oracle, MSSQL, etc.)
  • SOAP, REST or JSON experience
  • Experience influencing management on technical or business solutions
  • Experience with a wide application of technical principles, practices, and procedures to multiple applications or a component family
  • Technical architecture experience with a large enterprise financial institution
