The WBR Test Domain provides testing services and support for the Wealth, Brokerage and Retirement testing domain. The Systems QA Analyst 4 is responsible for all testing and quality assurance activities related to a project, release, or initiative prioritized by the Data Program. Testing is critical to ensuring a system release is implemented without error or production problems, which may result in lack of productivity in terms of system rework, or errors passed on to the customer.

In an effort to implement error-free releases, the responsibilities of the Systems QA Analyst 4 include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Provides leadership and guidance to less experienced staff.
  • Accountable for all testing deliverables, development of test plan, assigning resources, determining scope/guidelines on boarding resources to project and tracking/reporting on progress on assignments.
  • Review testing documentation created by less experienced staff for testing coverage and quality; providing guidance and recommendations for improvement. Plan and direct QA schedules and test assignments for assigned resources to ensure a quality product is delivered.
  • Serves as a systems quality assurance expert across supported systems and applications.
  • Defines test strategies for moderately complex to complex projects.
  • Review business requirements and functional specification documentation and provides feedback to ensure completeness and testability.
  • Develop processes and best practices to streamline test activities.
  • Provides subject matter expertise in testing methodology and processes.
  • Collaborate with multiple peers, vendors, QA groups (internal and external) and development groups at all levels for planning, coordinating, issue identification and resolution, risk mitigation and production implementation.
  • Proactively lead analysis to identify, evaluate and resolve complex problems during testing.
  • Use or coordinates use of the Quality Center tool to accomplish basic yet critical tasks such as monitoring test progress, etc.
  • Performs moderately complex to complex test data conditioning.
  • Oversees and conducts thorough target and regression testing.
  • Manages the regression testing effort to ensure it is complete and provides adequate coverage of business critical functionality.

This position requires compliance with all Brokerage regulatory requirements and Wells Fargo's compliance policies related to these requirements including acceptable background check investigation results.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of information technology quality assurance and systems/application testing experience
  • 3+ years of Informatica experience
  • 3+ years of Oracle experience
  • 3+ years of Unix Shell scripting experience
Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge and understanding of creating test plans, test cases, test procedures, test scripts, and expected results
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Test planning and executing experience in systems such as: Test Tool, Quality Center, or ClearQuest
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of technology testing: test plans, test cases, test procedures, test scripts, and expected results

  • Primary Role Deliverables:
    • Defect lifecycle, triaging and metrics collection and reporting
    • Working Knowledge and understanding of relational databases
    • Execute manual tests, record defects, and verify fixes
    • Should be able to handle multiple projects and teams
    • Take part in the planning, estimation and implementation of testing activities
    • Able to write simple to complex queries with exposure to database testing
    • Proven Experience in functional testing of web-based/client-server applications and backend testing
    • Prepare test plan documents and write test procedures, and implement test plans within current guidelines by analyzing project requirement documents
    • Understanding of, and ability to document high quality manual scripts
    • Ability to create, update and execute automated scripts, object repositories, etc., using keyword and/or other types of automation frameworks
    • Experience in coordinating vendor activities related to large system setup, file transmissions, batch processing etc.
    • Proven experience in analyzing requirements, develop test cases, execute and defect reporting.
    • Exposure to other testing flavors such as database / ETL will be an added advantage
    • BA/BS in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering and/or other related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Secondary Role Deliverables:
    • Working knowledge and/or basic programming experience.
    • Brokerage and/or Financial Services Industry Knowledge.
    • Working knowledge and/ or basic understanding of test automation.
