This role is responsible for developing and driving a talent strategy for UnitedHealth Group (UHG) Corporate. Working closely with business leaders and Human Capital Business Partners (HCBP), this role will translate business objectives into strategic and actionable talent plans.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Acts as people leader in Talent Acquisition (TA) and ensure best in class delivery of talent to meet critical business growth across  UHG Corporate
  • Stays current with trends in talent acquisition  and makes recommendations for innovative and futuristic approaches to TA strategy and delivery
  • Consults and influences business decisions in terms of talent and workforce needs, placement and work style approaches that support growth of the business
  • Collaborates with business leaders, finance and human capital business partners to create disciplined approach to forecasting and workforce planning on a consistent cadence
  • Through deep knowledge of forecast and workforce plan at UHG Corporate, manage the decision making process on critical roles, mobility options and external search recommendations along with SVP of Finance, Office of CEO Leadership and VP of Human Capital
  • Consults with Senior Executive leadership and Global Merger & Acquisition team on seamless integrations and provides support to non-integrated entities to determine which talent capabilities are leveraged
  • Serves as key point of contact to business leaders and human capital business partners across the enterprise where talent mobility is common and/or desired
  • Partners with Diversity & Inclusion to ensure active engagement with strategic partners, associations, etc., are meaningful and the ability to source talent through those partnerships is maintained
  • Provide consultation on talent and labor markets to ensure we are focused in the right geographies for the best quality and pace of attracting candidate slates
  • Understand critical and niche skill sets, points of entry and ensure all source channels are leveraged appropriately based on ratio of attractions to hire
  • Create Executive talent delivery plans that focus on seamless process, communication and effective placement (inclusive of executive referral management)
  • Build effective relationships across UHG Talent Office and Talent Acquisition Delivery within each segment to ensure cross-collaboration and coordination efforts remain top of mind
  • Drive all recruitment and performance metric goals to meet enterprise standards


Required Experience:

  • BS/ BA degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of staffing and recruitment experience
  • Experience working with Senior Management and to develop strong business partnerships and relationships
  • Experience managing a TA team in a complex, highly matrixed organization responsible for 800 or more hires per year

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Detailed knowledge of recruiting and HR policies and practices
  • Combined experiences in agency and corporate Talent Acquisition
  • Human Capital generalist experience
  • Experience building a recruiting strategy and executing on the plan
