Oversee and manage the talent acquisition team. Coordinate domestic and international recruiting efforts with the goal of hiring to meet business needs and to ensure the best fit with company culture.  

  • Oversee and provide guidance to Talent Specialist in all domestic recruiting efforts for hourly positions. Ensure a professional and consistent selection and onboarding experience for applicants.  Ensure adequate job offers are issued to meet hiring needs.
  • Advertise, recruit, screen and present candidates to department hiring managers for consideration. Work with the Assistant Director and/or Director of Human Resources to approve selections for salaried positions.  Approve selections for hourly skilled positions as assigned.
  • Train and advise department managers on proper hiring practices and use of the applicant tracking system where applicable.
  • Provide training and guidance to department managers on legally sound interviewing and selection practices.
  • Establish and maintain productive relationships with government agencies, schools and other organizations who serve as sources of potential candidates.
  • Ensure accurate and effective job postings and supporting advertising for all positions according to company standards, legal requirements and budgetary factors.
  • Advise current employees on job reassignment options when requested or required by the company.
  • Assist in the forecasting, planning and hiring of employees through the J1 Summer Work/Travel cultural exchange program. Travel internationally as required.
  • Communicate with all stakeholders regarding the J1 SWT program- to include sponsoring agencies, participating students and departmental contacts to ensure a smooth hiring, arrival, onboarding and departure process. Address issues that arise prior to and during employment.
  • Coordinate with sponsoring agencies and students in the rehire selection of independent Summer Work Travel participants.
  • Assist in the selection and processing of J1 Intern participants as requested.
  • Coordinate business travel as needed for domestic and international recruiting events, to include hotels, meeting rooms, flights, shuttles and rental cars, etc. Submit required company paperwork and handle bookings.
  • Conduct research and planning for effective domestic recruiting events. Coordinate with the Assistant Director on suggested locations and plan staff participation for each event.
  • Explore new recruiting strategies to meet the challenges of achieving hiring objectives.
  • Manage recordkeeping for all hiring activity according to company standards and legal compliance.
  • Human Resources management experience in recruiting and employee selection in the hospitality industry.
  • Experience with iCIMS or other applicant tracking software is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of the duties and qualifications of hospitality salaried and hourly positions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, to include experience in training and/or public speaking.
  • Ability to manage difficult conversations with candor and respect.
  • Outgoing personality and engaging behavioral traits.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to sell employment opportunities with Grand Canyon National Park Lodges.
  • Excellent judgment, decision making and discretionary skills in selecting applicants for positions of employment.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage a high-volume workload while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, internet research and social media sites.
  • Willingness and ability to do long distance business travel across multiple time zones to conduct in-person recruiting.
  • Possess valid Arizona Driver’s License and comply with company Driver Safety Program.
  • Possess or obtain a valid U.S. Passport and comply with company travel policy.
