Position Summary

Lead a team of space management analysts to provide quality planograms with a foundation of assortment and space analytics. Lead development of space analiytics and financial model for reset ROIs. Lead coordination of all planogram work associated with resets to support sales growth and minimize costs from creation through execution at shelf. Act as project lead on key assignments, ranging from tool implementation and training, to cross functional execution.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage, train, coach and lead space management analysts and manage all aspects of the Talent Development processes. Oversee the and ensure quality of the creation of optimal assortments and plangograms based on the LTR calendar, ensuring compliance to set merchandising and micro space standards and rules.
  • Design and execute an analytical structure, process & reporting for a financial & compliance model to improve on Space to sales, shelf in stock, shrink reduction and markdown reduction associated with resets and assortment. Includes Micro and Macro Space planning tied to category business plans, in stock goals and cost reduction initiatives. Perform Pre/Post Sales and profit analysis regarding specific space changes to determine effectiveness.
  • Lead all space planning aspects of the category business plans, reviews and other projects as are required. Work collaboratively with Category teams, assortment & pricing teams, procurement and retail to ensure the right assortment and allocation to the right space with timely execution to exit product and reduce inventory. Create and implement standard templates and communication tools for 100% execution at retail.
  • Build and maintain in-depth knowledge on customer behavior, market trends, promotional strategy in store execution for assigned categories, including Giant Eagle and competitive market.
  • Become an expert user of space planning tools, LTR tools,with an understanding of customer connect tools, buying tools, item set up tools, AR (RP, HQ, Biceps) providing feedback on future enhancements and conducting user testing of new releases as needed.
  • Recommend assortment and space changes with category managers for revisions that directly contribute to improved category performance including but not limited to: Sales, Margin and Turns
  • Lead and execute key projects as needed, ensuring timely and accurate deliverables.
  • Ensure timely and quality maintenance of the planogram database, insuring all pertinent information is maintained with the space management. Design & write SAS/Sequel to create tools and reports. Develop requirements to transform code into reporting with IS.
