Here, innovation isn't about another gadget, it's about making health care data available wherever and whenever people need it, safely and reliably.   This role is for a Test Lead with broad experience working on large enterprise systems and advanced automated test environments. Experience in the Genomics or Bioinformatics domain is a distinct advantage.   Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work within a highly agile team with accountability for delivering high quality software services iteratively and in compressed timelines to multiple up and downstream dependencies
  • Be a key point of contact,  interact with Senior Level Stakeholders, liaise between the Optum Genomics Business and key customers
  • Be involved in technical design, implementation and automated test of mostly backend, clinically oriented services within a fully CI/CD pipeline
  • Design and delivery of fully automated unit and integration tests that cross service boundaries with all software deliverables
  • Evangelize and provide technical design and implementation leadership around metrics driven design and implementation enabling creation of KPI oriented dashboards that provide real-time feedback on whether deliverables are meetings technical and business goals as well as support the operationalization of the service (automated alerting etc.)
  • Innovate on solutions that allow multiple disparate teams work in parallel across API boundaries as independent services are being built
  • Ensure the delivery of progressive SOA based solution designs e.g. services deployable standalone with industry standard design patterns and API best practices
  • Design and implementation performance / load tests to guarantee deliverables / the end to end system can operate at scale and balance big data workloads appropriately
  • Ongoing communication to and engagement with stakeholders across multi-functional teams (UX, Product, Technical, Documentation, Bioinformatics)
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver automated test that guarantee the integration of disparate systems through API boundaries and performance optimization of same
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team and with multiple stakeholders
  • Demonstrated initiative and strong ownership of deliverables

Required Qualifications:

  • Significant leadership and Stakeholder Management experience
  • Microservices / SOA / componentized design, development and architectural best practices
  • API Design Patterns and Implementation, SDK Development
  • Java, C++, Scala or other enterprise grade object oriented languages
  • Test Driven Design, implementation and tooling to build and deliver automated tests alongside code (unit, integration, performance)
  • Experience working with Big Data sets, Data Quality Management and Testing experience
  • Experiences working in HA environments, designing for resiliency, 5 X 9’s uptime etc.
  • NoSQL Database Design and integration (Mongo, CELLBASE, OpenEHR, HBASE)
  • Experience developing and delivering applications within a DevOps / CI / CD / Agile environment and associated best Practices
  • Experience deploying in docker
  • KPI driven design, application Instrumentation for system health monitoring and ongoing business analysis
  • Big Data Systems , experience working with extremely high data volumes incl. compute, transport and storage - OpenCGA advantageous, Hadoop, Spark
  • Integration of disparate systems through API boundaries and performance optimization of same
  • Stakeholder management, excellent collaboration and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Real-time and Batch data retrieval and manipulation experience: NoSQL, Hive QL, Python, Hadoop, Unstructured Data
  • Experience with clinical data interchange - FHIR and HL7 standards
  • Experience with Healthcare Industry
  • Genomics / Bioinformatics experience
