This position is for a Trainer - Clinical training professional and potentially facilities coders on conducting administrative / clinical review and audits in Optum Payment Integrity FWAE. Chief responsibilities will be to develops (using Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint tools) and deliver virtual instructor led, and or in person training curriculum supporting both commercial and government clinical SIU audit / reviewing coders / personnel.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • SME and deliver process, procedure and systems training for multiple claim platforms and ancillary systems associated with Optum and its internal clients

  • Will work closely with Operational Teams to identify training opportunities and implement strategies to conduct that training and make the staff more efficient

  • Additionally, they will network across other areas of Optum Payment Integrity Training to broaden their knowledge base and expand the training offering

Required Qualifications:

  • BA / BS degree and 1+ years of corporate training experience or high school diploma / GED AND applicable years of corporate training experience

  • Possess approved clinical coding certification – AHIMA, AAPC, Vocational School / College OR the ability to obtain one within the 1st year of employment

  • 1+ years of experience in Clinical Coding, review or auditing medical records skills

  • Ability to create, copy, edit, send, and save utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook, PowerPoint


Preferred Qualifications:

  • BA / BS degree in Adult Learning

  • CCS / CPMA


  • RN degree

  • ADDIE, SAM knowledge

  • Use of WebEx or other virtual instructor training tools

  • Use of Articulate Quizmaker or Storyline


This position requires a current certification as a RHIT, RHIA or degree in outpatient coding or licensure as a registered nurse. CCS< CPC-P, CPMA, CPC, CIC, CPC-H. Certification will be checked and is required to support application for this position.
