Veteran Engagement Officer - Philadelphia, PA

Veteran Engagement Officers (VEO) will be responsible for a specific territory. We are looking to hire 6 VEO’s for each of the following territories / nearby major city:

  • Philadelphia, PA

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Creating and maintaining a positive relationship with all VA Medical Center (VAMC) leaders in their assigned market area

  • Serves as the primary point-of-contact between the VAMC leadership and the Optum VA CCN team

  • Identification of VAMC’s top priorities and assessment of local health care market nuances

  • Monitoring and pro-actively responding to changes in the local health care market to maintain balanced workload and access to care

  • Build trusting relationships in local communities

  • Educate and train the VA and the community

  • Help to identify cost containment strategies

  • Provide escalation resolution for the VA

  • Coordinate with Veteran Service Organizations (VSO)

  • Assist Veterans with access/status issues

  • Provide local analytics on care delivery in the community

  • Organizing and/or participating in periodic meetings with VAMC leadership to include onsite visits


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • Minimum 3 years of operational leadership / management experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in business analysis, business requirement or business/operational process documentation

  • Minimum of 3 years of Military / VA experience

  • Excellent presentation, writing and negotiation skills

  • Superior time management skills and strong attention to detail

  • Demonstrated good interpersonal and relationship skills

  • Ability to identify and help solve problems that impact the management and direction of the business

  • Strong reporting acuity; demonstrated ability to use data to accomplish goals

  • Intermediate MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

  • Must be willing to travel up to 50-70 percent of the time

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the healthcare industry

  • Familiarity with any or all of the following: Tableau, OnBase

  • Experience with Agile Methodology,  Six Sigma Green Belt or Lean Certified Processes
